January 1961 Hiroshima warehouse was constructed in Kita-cho, Aki-gun, Hiroshima, to enable more efficient delivery of products to Mazda Motor Corp. January 1962 Toyo Seat Co.,Ltd.established with the full transfer of product and manufacturing rights of Osaka Matsuda Ltd. to manufacture and market car seats.Capital: 2.5million yen. March 1965 Constructed a new plant within the Hiroshima warehouse site to begin production of car seats for delivery to Mazda Motor Corp. August Completed installation of fully integrated production line equipment in the Hiroshima plant. May 1970 Established Takaya Kasei Co., Ltd., as joint management, at Takaya-cho, Higashi-Hiroshima City, Hiroshima to manufacture urethane foam molding seat parts. July All car seat production responsibilities of the Itami plant transferred to the Hiroshima plant,and the Itami plant was then converted to manufacture baby buggies,seats and chairs,and health care products for delivery to Sale. November 1971 Established Miyoshi Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary, at Shiomachi, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima to manufacture automotive exhaust pipes, mufflers, and sewing goods for car seats. April 1979 Principal office relocated from Itami to the Hiroshima plant,which was then officially designated as the corporate headquarters. December 1982 Received Quality Assurance Certification from Mazda Motor Corp. May 1985 Established Takaya Industrial Co., Ltd., at Takaya-cho, Higashi-Hiroshima City, Hiroshima to manufacture plastic molding seat parts and sewing goods for car seats. January 1988 Toyo Seat USA Corp. was established in Imlay City, Michigan, to spearhead the company's entry into the United States market. January 1991 Newly established Kozan plant at Kozan-cho Sera-gun,Hiroshima to increase production. May 1992 Received Quality Assurance Certification of Excellence from Mazda Motor Corp. May Established Shanghai Min Fang Auto Parts Co., Ltd., as joint management, in the People's Republic of China to expand into the Asian market. June 1993 Established the Shuho plant in Yamaguchi Prefecture to enable more efficient delivery to the Mazda Hofu Plant. October Headquarters and main plant receive an Award for TPM Excellence-First Category from the Japan Brand Maintenance Association. November Toyo Seat USA Corporation established a new plant in Flemingsburg, Kentucky to expand business. March 1997 Capital Increased to 90million yen. July Imlay City plant of Toyo Seat USA Corporation became QS-9000 registered. November Became ISO 9001 registered with the Japan Quality Assurance (JQA) Organization. December 1998 Established Automotive Interiors Corporation, as joint management, in the Philippines to develop a new market, especially into ASEAN countries. November 2001 Began operations at Toyo Tooling, Co., Ltd. November Toyo Seat USA Corporation established a new plant in Pelham, Tennessee to expand business.
